This Privacy Policy explains how PickleHQ ("PickleHQ", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit picklehq.com (the "Site"), subscribe to our newsletter or contact us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Newsletter: your email address and, optionally, preferences you choose.
- Contact form and email: your name, email address and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from IP address (city or region level), browser type, device type and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files used to remember preferences and measure how the Site is used. See section 4.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not sell personal information.
2. How we use information
- To send the newsletter you requested and service emails such as signup confirmation.
- To respond to your messages and correction requests.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the Site.
- To keep the Site secure and prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Newsletter
If you subscribe, we use your email address to send our newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by emailing hello@picklehq.com. We may use standard email metrics (such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked) to improve the newsletter. We use a third-party email service provider to store addresses and send emails on our behalf.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use analytics tools to measure traffic and usage in aggregate, for example how many people visit a page and how they arrived. These tools may set cookies or use similar technologies and may process your IP address. We configure analytics to minimize the data collected where the tool allows it.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
5. Affiliate links
Some links on the Site are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may set its own cookies to record that you came from PickleHQ so it can attribute any purchase. That activity is governed by the retailer's or network's privacy policy, not this one. We receive reports about commissions earned but not your name, address or payment details.
6. How we share information
We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who host the Site, send email or provide analytics, under contracts limiting their use of the data.
- Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of PickleHQ, our users or others.
- Business transfers, if PickleHQ is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets; you'll be notified of any change in ownership affecting your information.
7. Data retention
We keep newsletter subscriber data until you unsubscribe, after which we may retain your email on a suppression list so we don't email you again. We keep contact messages as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards. Analytics data is retained in aggregated or limited form.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any right, email hello@picklehq.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.
9. Children
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International visitors
PickleHQ is operated from the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice such as a note on the Site or in the newsletter.
